Sharjah Ruler Opens International Forum For Arabic Language Teachers With Focus On Innovation And Technology

H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the launch of the third International Forum of Arabic Language Teachers. Organised by the Sharjah Private Education Authority with the Sharjah Education Academy, this event aims to highlight outstanding teaching practices in Arabic language education globally. The forum also explores how technology and artificial intelligence can be used innovatively in language learning.

The opening ceremony began with Quranic verses and the UAE national anthem. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, expressed gratitude to H.H. for his support on World Teachers' Day. She announced "Passion for Arabic," a new initiative aimed at enhancing Arabic teaching for both native and non-native speakers.

Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hamadi emphasised the importance of integrating technology in Arabic education during his speech. He noted that artificial intelligence is transforming education worldwide, presenting opportunities to improve Arabic language teaching. This includes enhancing reading and writing skills for both native and non-native speakers.

Dr. Al Hamadi highlighted that learning Arabic is crucial in today's tech-driven world as it aids communication and understanding. He stressed that proficiency in Arabic offers a competitive edge in the job market due to its precision and expressiveness, essential for content creation and translation.

Engineer Tariq Al Hammadi introduced the "Stand Up for Teachers" card initiative, recognising teachers' contributions to future generations. Supported by H.H., this initiative provides discounts on training, health insurance, travel, and more for educators, with AED 9.2 million allocated for teacher training.

The forum's activities include workshops on using technology in education and innovative teaching strategies. Topics such as "Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Arabic Language Education" aim to enhance participants' skills with modern tools.

Cultural Identity Through Language

The forum features panel discussions on preserving the Arabic language's cultural significance among youth. Experts will discuss leveraging digital tools like AI to improve educational outcomes while sharing successful international practices.

A visual presentation titled "Our Roots Will Remain" showcased efforts in promoting Arabic language education, featuring excerpts from H.H.'s speeches highlighting its importance.

Honouring Contributions

At the ceremony's end, H.H. honoured Dr. Diaa Al Kaabi from Bahrain University and Dr. Reema Al Kurdi from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology for their contributions to the forum.

The forum includes 33 workshops from schools across 29 countries, focusing on innovative educational solutions applicable globally. Cultural sessions feature writers, poets, researchers, and scholars discussing literary richness unique to Arabic.

The event also includes a student exhibition called the "Student Museum" showcasing creative works from students across UAE emirates like Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah.

The forum continues until Sunday with various sessions designed to enrich participants' experiences by providing them with cutting-edge tools and methods in Arabic language education.
