Riyadh Hosts International Facility Management Conference For Global Best Practices
The International Facility Management Conference and Exhibition began today in Riyadh under the patronage of Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing. Organised by the Saudi Facility Management Association (SFMA), the event aims to create a global platform for stakeholders from various sectors to share knowledge and best practices.
Eng. Bander Al-Zunaid, Director General of Healthcare Sector Support for Assets and Facilities at the Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority, emphasised the importance of government spending efficiency. He noted that improving project quality from planning to operation involves developing policies, empowering public entities with sustainable solutions, and creating a positive impact to achieve national objectives.

The conference also focuses on exchanging expertise related to the latest developments in facility management. It aims to generate innovative solutions to address common challenges while enhancing sustainability and efficiency. The event highlights key organisations' performance, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Project Management Expert Eng. Al-Mohanad Al-Duhaim explained that asset and facility management within institutions is crucial for operating and maintaining assets efficiently. This includes buildings, roads, infrastructure, electrical systems, and sewage systems. Policies and procedures are developed based on asset types to ensure effective operation.
The conference sessions feature 67 participants, including 50 speakers and 30 workshops. These sessions aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of facility management practices and innovations.
Agreements and Memoranda Signed
Several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed with various entities during the conference. These collaborations aim to enhance facility management practices across different sectors.
Eng. Bander Al-Zunaid highlighted that one of SFMA's primary tasks is developing tools, methodologies, and techniques that contribute to achieving spending quality targets in projects, assets, and facilities while adopting best practices.
