Hajj 1446 AH: Interior Ministry Details Safety Procedures For Pilgrims
The Ministry of Interior has outlined several measures for the Hajj season of 1446 AH to ensure pilgrims' safety and facilitate a smooth experience. These steps include specific entry and exit dates for Umrah visa holders and permit requirements for residents entering Makkah.
Umrah visa holders must enter Saudi Arabia by Sunday, Shawwal 15, 1446 AH. They need to leave by Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1, 1446 AH. These dates are crucial for managing the flow of visitors during the Hajj season.

Starting Friday, Shawwal 25, 1446 AH, residents wishing to enter Makkah must obtain permits from relevant authorities. Those without permits will be denied entry and sent back to their original locations. Exemptions apply to those with work permits in the Holy Sites or valid Hajj permits.
Electronic Permit Issuance
Residents working in Makkah during Hajj can get entry permits electronically via "Absher Individuals" and "Muqeem Portal." This digital approach aims to streamline the process and ensure only authorised individuals access the city during this period.
Suspension of Umrah Permits
The issuance of Umrah permits through the "Nusuk" platform will be suspended from Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1, 1446 AH, until Monday, Dhu al-Hijjah 14, 1446 AH. This suspension affects citizens of Saudi Arabia, GCC countries, residents within the Kingdom, and other visa holders.
Restrictions on Visa Holders
No visa holders are allowed to enter or stay in Makkah except those with Hajj visas starting Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1, 1446 AH. This measure is part of efforts to manage the number of people in Makkah effectively during Hajj.
The Ministry emphasises strict adherence to these regulations and cooperation with authorities to maintain safety and security during this year's Hajj season. Violations will lead to legal consequences as part of ensuring a peaceful pilgrimage experience for all involved.
