Integrated Services For The Elderly At Grand Mosque Ensure Comfortable Worship Experience

The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has introduced various services to support elderly worshippers. These efforts aim to create a safe, comfortable, and accessible environment for them to perform their religious duties with ease. This initiative is part of a larger commitment to providing comprehensive care and convenience for older visitors.

Electric shuttle services have been made available in the eastern square, facilitating transportation from the Gaza Bridge to the Al-Salam Basement. This service helps elderly worshippers navigate the expansive mosque area more easily. Additionally, large electric vehicles are stationed at key locations like the Al-Marwah Stairway and elevators, Al-Arqam Stairway and elevators, and Al-Qarara Stairway to assist with the Saa'i ritual.

Elderly Services Enhance Worship at Grand Mosque

The Saa'i service is offered on the second floor, where staff members ensure pilgrims' safety during their movement. To further accommodate elderly visitors, prayer rooms have been specifically designed for them and people with disabilities. These rooms are situated in the King Fahd expansion on the first floor, near Gates 91 and 64.

Specific gates such as Gates 68 and 90 have been equipped with ramps and signage to facilitate electric vehicle access. This enhances accessibility for elderly worshippers. Bridges and elevators, including Ajyad, Al-Shabika, Al-Arqam, and Al-Marwah bridges, along with the Al-Arqam elevator and Al-Salam Basement, have been established to streamline vehicle movement into the mosque.

These measures collectively contribute to creating a welcoming environment for elderly pilgrims. By ensuring they can perform their religious duties without unnecessary difficulties, these initiatives reflect a broader commitment to supporting all visitors' needs at the Grand Mosque.
