Integrated Humanitarian Services Enrich The Grand Mosque Visitor Experience

The integrated services system at the Grand Mosque delivers daily humanitarian support to hundreds of thousands of Umrah performers and visitors, combining practical care, medical assistance, and guidance so that rituals are carried out in an organised, safe, and calm environment that reflects the Kingdom’s approach to serving visitors to the holy mosques.

This system brings together government bodies, non-profit organisations, and registered volunteers under a unified operational model at the Grand Mosque, with each party assigned clear roles and responsibilities, in line with long-term plans linked to Saudi Vision 2030 that seek to raise service quality at the Two Holy Mosques.

Integrated Services Elevate Grand Mosque Visitors

Around the clock, field medical teams from the Makkah Health Cluster operate within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards, working in coordination with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority through fixed health centres and mobile emergency points, providing first aid and rapid medical intervention that protect the health of visitors throughout their stay.

Operational data from the authorities working at the Grand Mosque show that more than 300,000 Umrah performers and visitors receive direct services every day, including on-site guidance and orientation, help for elderly people, support for persons with disabilities, access to electric carts and wheelchairs, and translation and communication in several international languages.

Thousands of male and female volunteers, registered through national volunteering platforms, strengthen these Grand Mosque services by joining organised teams that support reception and guidance, assist with crowd organisation, provide services for persons with disabilities, and communicate with visitors in multiple languages, which improves coordination and helps raise the overall standard of humanitarian care offered at the holy mosques.

The entities responsible for Grand Mosque services continue to upgrade tools, procedures, and staff readiness, aiming to secure a smooth and safe experience that meets both spiritual and humanitarian needs of Umrah performers and visitors, while official reports noted that these efforts were recorded at 22:58 Local Time, corresponding to 19:58 GMT, by the Saudi Press Agency.
