Industry Minister Bandar Alkhorayef Holds Key Meetings At FII9 Conference To Enhance Global Cooperation
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef engaged in several significant discussions at the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) Conference in Riyadh. He met with Mustafa Kamal, Pakistan's Minister of Health, Edwin Palma Egea, Colombia's Minister of Mines and Energy, David Burt, Premier and Minister of Finance of Bermuda, and Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
During his meeting with Pakistan's health minister, Alkhorayef focused on enhancing industrial cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. They discussed the National Industrial Strategy's goals to localise and develop the pharmaceutical sector to ensure health and drug security in Saudi Arabia. The conversation also included exploring joint investment opportunities in medicine and vaccine manufacturing.

Alkhorayef's discussion with Colombia's minister centred on advancing cooperation in mining and minerals. They examined potential for value chain integration between the two nations. Alkhorayef highlighted Saudi Arabia’s Comprehensive Mining and Metals Strategy, which offers promising investment opportunities across all mining stages.
Global Sustainable Development
The meeting with IFC’s managing director focused on joint action frameworks between the Future Minerals Forum hosted by Saudi Arabia and the World Bank Group (WBG). Their collaboration aims to promote sustainable development within the global mining sector. This partnership seeks to address challenges while fostering growth through innovative solutions.
Investment Opportunities in Saudi Arabia
In talks with Bermuda’s premier, discussions revolved around boosting cooperation in industry and mining sectors. They explored promising investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia. The meeting highlighted competitive advantages such as enablers and incentives that facilitate investor engagement in the Kingdom’s thriving environment.
Alkhorayef extended invitations to attend the fifth Future Minerals Forum scheduled for January 13-15, 2026, in Riyadh. This event will serve as a global platform uniting policymakers, NGOs, investors, technology companies, and research institutions. The forum aims to develop innovative solutions for challenges facing the mining sector while promoting its long-term sustainability.
