Saudi Arabia's Industry Minister Promotes Global Investment In Downstream Chemical Sector At K Show 2025
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef recently engaged with top global industrial firms in Düsseldorf, Germany. This meeting focused on investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia's downstream chemicals and advanced manufacturing sectors. It took place alongside the "K Show 2025," a major trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry.
The Kingdom's petrochemical sector has seen notable growth, aiming to convert petrochemical products into high-value downstream industries. This strategy is designed to enhance the sector's economic contribution. To support this goal, Saudi Arabia offers various incentives to attract both local and international investments.

Alkhorayef highlighted the significant economic and industrial changes occurring in Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030. He emphasized the industrial sector's crucial role in diversifying the economy. The National Industrial Strategy is central to achieving these national goals.
Saudi Arabia presents several competitive advantages as an industrial investment hub. These include a skilled workforce, strategic location connecting three continents, access to key markets, abundant resources, competitive energy costs, modern infrastructure, and advanced industrial cities.
The minister also discussed Saudi Arabia's industrial transformation, emphasizing the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center's role in this shift. This center supports initiatives like the "Future Factories" program, which promotes Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in 4,000 factories.
The "Industrial Lighthouses" program is another initiative aimed at helping leading national factories adopt advanced technologies. This program seeks to improve production efficiency and achieve global recognition through the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network.
Roundtable Discussions
The roundtable was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources with Messe Düsseldorf. Key attendees included Vice Minister for Industrial Affairs Khalil bin Salamah, CEO of the National Industrial Development Center Saleh Al-Solami, and Messe Düsseldorf CEO Wolfram Diener.
This event was part of Alkhorayef's official visit to Germany, where he led a delegation from Saudi Arabia's industrial and mining sectors at the "K Show 2025." The visit underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to building global industrial partnerships, sharing expertise, transferring technology, and attracting quality investments.
The Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center also aids in developing capability centers and supports the Operational Excellence Program. These efforts are part of broader initiatives to adopt automation and advanced technologies across industries.
