Industry Minister Bandar Bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef Concludes Official Visit To The US To Strengthen Industrial Cooperation

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, recently completed an official visit to the United States. The trip covered several significant states, such as New York, California, and Nevada. The primary goal was to enhance industrial and mining collaboration, strengthen bilateral ties, and attract high-quality investments to Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, Alkhorayef engaged with executives from leading American industrial and mining firms. Discussions focused on joint investment opportunities in strategic industries being localized in Saudi Arabia. Key sectors included aviation, aerospace, electric vehicles (EVs), and renewable energy.

The minister explored cutting-edge mining technologies and clean energy solutions. He also discussed the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications like artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) in manufacturing processes. These discussions aimed to advance innovative industrial solutions for regional and global development.

In Las Vegas, Alkhorayef attended MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2024, the world's largest mining services exhibition. He explored the latest technologies in the sector and visited the "Invest in Saudi" pavilion. This pavilion showcased leading Saudi mining companies alongside the National Industrial Development Center.

Alkhorayef's itinerary included a visit to Columbia University where he met faculty members and students. They discussed Saudi Arabia's transformation in the industrial and mining sectors aligned with Vision 2030. This engagement highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to educational collaboration.

The minister also visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). There, he learned about its advanced electronic systems for evaluating companies and sectors. He examined trading mechanisms and best practices designed to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.

Promoting Investment Opportunities

A "Saudi Night" event took place in Las Vegas where attendees were introduced to Saudi Arabia's heritage. Key development projects under Vision 2030 were showcased along with lucrative mining investment opportunities. This event aimed to attract global interest in Saudi Arabia's economic initiatives.

In Los Angeles, Alkhorayef participated in a roundtable with major American companies like Qualcomm, Beta Technologies, and SpaceX. Discussions centered on expanding cooperation in solar energy, AI, and EV manufacturing fields.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The minister visited aviation manufacturer JetZero and aerospace giant SpaceX during his stay in Los Angeles. He explored collaboration opportunities aiming to develop local supply chains using Saudi Arabia's mineral resources to boost local manufacturing capabilities.

An event co-organized by Saudi Arabia and UNIDO was attended by Alkhorayef during his visit. It served as a platform for Saudi Arabia to host future events like the 2024 Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (IMIPF) and UNIDO's 21st General Conference in Riyadh in 2025.

The minister held bilateral meetings with top executives from global mining service companies at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2024. Discussions focused on localizing smart mining solutions while exploring promising investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia's mining sector.
