Industry Minister Bandar Alkhorayef Chairs Meeting With Indonesian Companies To Boost Mining Sector Collaboration

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef recently visited Indonesia, where he led a high-level workshop and roundtable to boost mining and industrial partnerships. The events aimed to highlight opportunities in Saudi Arabia's expanding sectors. Alkhorayef emphasised the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, focusing on their mutual goal of using mineral resources for national growth.

Alkhorayef discussed Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global mining centre. This vision is supported by rich resources, attractive incentives, and top-tier infrastructure. The workshop featured presentations on the comprehensive mining strategy, exploration auctions, and investor incentives designed to attract international interest.

Minister Alkhorayef Engages Indonesian Companies

A key session at the workshop explored upstream and downstream opportunities in Saudi Arabia's mineral and metals sectors. Participants learned about unlocking mineral resources, sustainable mining practices, and sector innovation. These discussions underscored the Kingdom's commitment to advancing its mining industry through strategic initiatives.

The Minister also hosted an industrial investor roundtable to present opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector. This event highlighted incentives for forming global partnerships. Major players from various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, automotive, equipment, heavy industry, and aviation attended the roundtable.

During both events, Alkhorayef reviewed industrial and mining prospects while stressing incentives available for attracting global investments. He reiterated the Kingdom's readiness to welcome international partners into its growing sectors.

Future Minerals Forum Invitation

Attendees were invited to the fifth annual Future Minerals Forum (FMF) scheduled in Riyadh from January 13-15, 2026. This forum will further explore opportunities within the Kingdom’s mineral landscape. It serves as a platform for discussing advancements in sustainable mining and innovation across the sector.

The trade partnership between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia exceeded $6 billion in 2023. This event reinforced both countries' dedication to economic collaboration and sustainable development. Their shared vision focuses on leveraging mineral wealth for future prosperity.
