Over 10,000 Interviews Offered To Emirati Talents At Industrialists Career Exhibition
The second edition of the Industrialists Career Exhibition, a pioneering event aimed at bolstering the UAE's industrial sector by connecting local talent with immediate career opportunities, wrapped up its activities on the 23rd of April at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre. This unique event, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), and ADNOC, drew participation from over 4,200 Emirati youth from across the nation.
Reflecting a significant leap from its inaugural edition, this year's exhibition facilitated more than 10,000 immediate interviews for attendees with over 83 companies in the national advanced industry and technology sector. A notable highlight was the announcement of 800 job vacancies, including 150 positions specifically designated for Emirati people of determination within private firms.
Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, emphasized the exhibition's alignment with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and its role in promoting the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative. "The exhibition serves as an integrated platform that unites government partners, the private sector, training entities, and job seekers to offer opportunities that meet company needs," Al Suwaidi stated. He further highlighted the event's contribution to enhancing the industrial sector's competitiveness and its growth, which is pivotal for economic diversification and sustainable development.
Al Suwaidi also shared insights into this year's objectives, which included offering over 800 immediate-hire jobs alongside diverse training programmes directly linked to jobseeker interviews. He reiterated MoIAT's commitment to launching similar initiatives to boost Emirati participation in key sectors contributing to the UAE's GDP.
Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of Nafis, reflected on the positive outcomes of this edition. "The results signify not only an increase in job offerings and successful placements but also a shift in how our youth perceive job fairs, thanks to immediate hiring and train-to-hire opportunities that align their potential with industrial and service company requirements," Al Mazrouei remarked. He acknowledged the collective efforts of all partners in achieving these results, which support national objectives of promoting Emiratisation in the private sector and equipping youth with essential job market skills.
Yaser Saeed Al Mazrouei, ADNOC Executive Director of People, Commercial and Corporate Support, expressed pride in ADNOC's role in supporting the exhibition. "ADNOC is committed to creating highly skilled private sector job opportunities for UAE Nationals through our ICV programme," Al Mazrouei said. He underscored ADNOC's dedication to contributing to the UAE's industrial and economic growth while working towards a lower carbon future.
The MoIAT had launched the Industrialist Programme last year to foster national talent development within the industrial sector. The first edition of this exhibition took place in October 2023, attracting more than 3,000 Emirati youth and creating over 500 job opportunities in collaboration with more than 73 companies and training opportunities provided by ministry partners.
