India-UAE Partners In Progress Conclave: Sheikh Nahyan Emphasises Strong Bilateral Relations
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the India-UAE: Partners in Progress Conclave in Dubai. In his keynote speech, Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the deep commercial, economic, and cultural ties between the UAE and India. "We are confident that our cooperation will continue to create robust opportunities for mutual benefit and shared progress," he stated.
The conclave was organised by the UAE India Business Council – UAE Chapter in collaboration with the India Today Group. It brought together policymakers, business leaders, diplomats, and innovators to shape bilateral cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The event marked a milestone in the evolving strategic partnership between the two nations.
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, emphasised the council's strategic importance. He stated, "The UAE India Business Council – UAE Chapter serves as an institutional pillar in our journey towards a comprehensive economic partnership. It translates political will into real partnerships." This highlights how UAE–India ties are evolving from trade to deep sectoral collaboration.
Sheikh Nahyan praised India's achievements across various sectors and its global stature. He commended India's commitment to its people's well-being and expressed pride in the strong political, commercial, and educational ties with India. He noted that these relations have grown into fruitful partnerships over centuries.
The event explored new areas like artificial intelligence, energy transition, digital infrastructure, and cultural diplomacy. This approach demonstrates both nations' commitment to sustainable growth and innovation. A dynamic session on cinema and soft power highlighted cultural exchange's role in strengthening mutual understanding.
A significant highlight was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai Health Authority to establish the UAE–India Friendship Hospital. This marks a milestone in healthcare diplomacy and human-centered collaboration between the two countries.
High-Level Discussions and Key Participants
The conclave featured high-level discussions offering insights into logistics, renewable energy, fintech, and education. These discussions resulted in practical strategies for cross-border business growth. The event also included thematic panel discussions on innovation, energy, retail, and tourism with prominent participants.
Distinguished attendees included Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE; Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India to Dubai; and several businessmen. Key founding members like KAF Holdings, DP World, Tata Sons participated alongside academic institutions.
Shared Vision for Peace and Prosperity
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that both countries share a vision built on global engagement and civil dialogue for peace and prosperity. He pointed out their alignment in education, environmental stewardship, public health safety, trade openness, investment culture.
He applauded Aroon Purie’s leadership at India Today Group along with UAE India Business Council's involvement urging participants to build on conclave outcomes through recognition programs supporting UAE–India partnerships.
The inaugural edition underscored UAE India Business Council’s role as a catalyst shaping future-oriented economic corridors between both countries. The conclave laid out a roadmap interweaving strategic institutional cultural threads for deeper dynamic partnerships.
Sheikh Nahyan concluded by welcoming attendees again while looking forward to innovative strategies emerging from this gathering: "Let this conclave serve as a platform for knowledge exchange relationship-building creating brighter shared future."
