Saudi Arabia Emphasizes Global Collaboration To Address Water Challenges And Sustainability

This was underscored during Saudi Arabia's participation in the "Value of Water Community" forum in Rome, Italy, where discussions focused on Italy's water challenges, including climate change impacts and declining groundwater levels.

The Deputy Minister for Water at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, noted that Saudi Vision 2030 places a strong emphasis on water sustainability as a key component of national growth. Given the Kingdom's natural water scarcity, comprehensive strategies have been put in place to improve water efficiency and balance supply with demand.

Dr. Al-Shaibani highlighted the National Water Strategy 2030, which seeks to develop alternative water sources and reduce reliance on non-renewable groundwater through desalination.
