Impact Summit Positions UAE To Drive Collaborative Efforts Towards Achieving 2030 Sustainable Development Goals

The 2025 Impact Summit, organised by Majra – the National CSR Fund, will take place on 27th November. This event serves as a national platform to unite leaders from government, business, and civil society. The focus is on redefining corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the impact economy in the UAE under the theme "Unifying Collective Good for the UAE."

Majra's aim is to enhance partnerships that align private-sector contributions with UAE national priorities and the Year of Community. This initiative seeks to drive measurable and sustainable social impact. The summit will feature 25 speakers, four main sessions, 25 interactive talks at the "Impact in Action" stage, and 25 exhibitors. More than 400 leaders and experts from various sectors will attend.

UAE's Impact Summit Drives Action for 2030 Goals

Discussions at the summit will centre on building the impact economy, improving measurement, and shaping CSR's future in the UAE. The programme includes panel discussions and a roundtable on partnerships for social good. Cross-sector dialogues will explore business opportunities supporting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasising innovation and collaboration's role in accelerating progress.

The summit will highlight success stories from local entities implementing CSR initiatives. A dedicated space will showcase contributions by People of Determination. The "Impact in Action" stage will demonstrate how companies and changemakers turn sustainability ideas into measurable results.

"Majra Expo" will provide entrepreneurs with tools and guidance to develop purpose-driven ventures. Meanwhile, "Majra X" will spotlight success stories and support collaboration between local and emerging companies to scale sustainability projects.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Majra CEO Sarah Shaw stated that the summit aims to unify efforts across government, private sector, civil society, and academia. The goal is to build a national framework for impact leadership, measurement, and sustainable contribution.

AI's Role in Enhancing Community Impact

Shaw explained that Majra connects companies seeking to implement social initiatives with non-profits needing support. It also links government bodies setting national priorities with academic partners evaluating projects. Although Majra does not provide direct funding, it guides private-sector contributions toward approved projects aligned with national needs.

Majra’s tools - including the Impact Declaration and Community Impact Medal - offer an annual national framework for impact measurement. These tools encourage companies to adopt more sustainable practices.

Shaw highlighted artificial intelligence's potential to significantly enhance community impact by improving programme efficiency. AI can direct resources to priority areas, analyse big data for better decision-making, and enable real-time impact measurement.

Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future

AI also makes advanced analytics accessible to small enterprises, promoting fairness within the impact ecosystem. Shaw noted that capturing social outcomes remains challenging due to traditional indicators' limitations. Many initiatives drive behavioural change requiring sophisticated measurement tools.

Challenges include differing methodologies, limited data, resource constraints, and inconsistent evaluation standards. Shaw mentioned that Majra is developing unified national models to standardise impact indicators. This effort aims to improve transparency and strengthen trust between communities and sectors.

Youth play a central role in this process due to their capacity for innovation and technological adoption. Shaw emphasised empowering young people with skills as an investment in a more inclusive future for the UAE.
