Impact Summit 2025 Focuses On Developing A Sustainable Impact-Based Economy In UAE
The Impact Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi focused on creating an economy driven by impact, assessing this impact, and the future of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the UAE. The event marked a significant step in the UAE's journey towards an economy centred on measurable outcomes and strategic partnerships.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra – National CSR Fund, highlighted the importance of transforming intentions into tangible results that benefit society. She emphasised directing private-sector contributions to projects with national significance through the Sustainable Impact Digital Platform. These efforts are evaluated using tools like the Institutional Impact Declaration and Community Impact Medal.

Shaw stressed that collaboration between public and private sectors is vital for national progress. Majra is dedicated to steering private contributions towards key areas such as education, health, environment, culture, heritage, arts, sports, and technology. This approach aims to foster a shared value economy that benefits society and the environment.
The Summit's first edition aimed to highlight best practices across the UAE. Shaw expressed hope that discussions would enhance collective efforts in CSR and sustainability. She noted pride in Majra’s Impact Lab workshops designed for co-creating initiatives that have garnered significant interest.
The launch of the second Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026 was announced at the Summit. This platform recognises outstanding CSR initiatives by private companies, third-sector institutions, universities, and other entities for their sustainability efforts. It aims to showcase exemplary projects contributing to community well-being.
Shaw highlighted successful experiences of various entities in making a community impact. She mentioned that 2026 will see initiatives aimed at enhancing community welfare. A core value of Majra is involving all societal segments in its initiatives, including People of Determination.
Inclusivity and Recognition
At the Summit, 20 People of Determination participated through a special platform showcasing services and products from government bodies and social enterprises. Shaw stated: "We are keen to meet the needs of People of Determination and include them in community engagement and activities."
The Summit was not just a dialogue platform but a practical journey to turn ideas into measurable initiatives. It promoted a culture of social investment leaving a legacy for future generations. The focus was on transitioning CSR from intentions to measurable outcomes with real-world impacts.
Expanding tools like the Sustainable Impact Digital Platform represents Majra’s strategy for building shared national impact. This positions the UAE as a global model for an economy based on sustainable impact benefiting society, economy, and environment.
