IMMAF Youth World Championships Launches In Al Ain With Over 1,000 Athletes Competing
The IMMAF Youth World Championships will commence on Monday in Al Ain for the first time. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event will take place from 21st to 27th July at ADNEC Centre Al Ain. This year, it promises to be the largest edition yet.
More than 1,000 athletes from over 60 nations are set to participate, marking a significant milestone in the championship's history. Competitors will be divided into four age categories: Youth D (10–11 years), Youth C (12–13 years), Youth B (14–15 years), and Youth A (16–17 years).

The UAE National Team is entering the competition with 57 athletes. They recently completed a training camp in Phuket, Thailand, as part of their final preparations. The team aims to improve upon last year's performance when they finished fourth overall and won 12 medals.
Mohammed Al Hosani from the MMA Committee of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation highlighted the significance of hosting this event in Al Ain. He noted that this reflects the UAE's rising status in global combat sports.
Al Hosani described the championship as both a sporting and cultural platform. It promotes cross-cultural understanding and empowers youth by connecting nations through sports. The event also offers tailored experiences for athletes and delegations, showcasing Emirati hospitality, entertainment, and cultural exchange.
"The championship serves as a launchpad for future champions and a bridge to connect nations through sports," said Al Hosani. "A series of tailored experiences have also been designed for the athletes and delegations, offering them a well-rounded Emirati experience that blends hospitality, entertainment, and cultural exchange."
The UAE National Team approaches this championship with enthusiasm and determination. Al Hosani expressed confidence in their ability to deliver strong performances that highlight MMA's progress in the country.
