IMCTC Secretary-General Engages With Côte D'Ivoire's Chief Of Staff On Counterterrorism Strategies
Gen. Lassina Doumbia, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire, recently welcomed Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), and his delegation. Their discussions focused on strengthening military and security cooperation to combat terrorism effectively.
Al-Moghedi emphasised IMCTC's significant role in aiding member states by enhancing their capabilities against terrorism and extremism. He mentioned that the coalition plans to initiate strategic projects in Côte d'Ivoire, such as training programs and technical support, aimed at tackling terrorism and its funding sources.

The initiatives proposed for Côte d'Ivoire include specialised training programs targeting terrorism financing. These efforts are part of a broader strategy-building initiative designed to bolster the capacity of security and military agencies in addressing terrorist threats and associated challenges.
Al-Moghedi highlighted the coalition's dedication to forming robust partnerships with member states, as well as international and regional organisations. The goal is to develop comprehensive solutions that are sustainable in countering terrorism across various dimensions—ideological, media, financial, and military.
Doumbia acknowledged the coalition's crucial role in supporting member states through technical assistance and training. He pointed out that Côte d'Ivoire aims to deepen its collaboration with IMCTC to address terrorist threats affecting the region effectively.
The visit by Al-Moghedi is part of ongoing efforts by the coalition to enhance counter-terrorism programs within member states. This commitment underscores IMCTC's integrated approach to tackling terrorism from multiple angles.
The coalition's initiatives aim not only at immediate threat mitigation but also at building long-term resilience among member states. By focusing on capacity building through training and technical support, IMCTC seeks to empower nations like Côte d'Ivoire in their fight against terrorism.
