Ikigai Steel Expands Internationally With Major Projects From Sharjah Base To Africa And Canada
Ikigai Steel, a key player in structural steel engineering and construction, has successfully completed over 20 major projects in the UAE and the Gulf region. The company operates from a new facility in Sharjah's Hamriyah Free Zone, which covers 548,000 square feet and was built with an AED 30 million investment. This expansion marks Sharjah's increasing importance as a global industrial hub.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, recently visited Ikigai’s new factory. He was welcomed by CEO Rohan Raj Nadarajan and other officials. During his visit, Al Mazrouei learned about the factory's advanced manufacturing systems, including precision laser cutting and automated welding lines.

The facility also boasts proprietary 3D steel twisting/forming technology. This innovation allows for the creation of complex structural components used in prominent projects like stadiums, bridges, airports, and iconic structures. Such advancements highlight Ikigai Steel’s commitment to cutting-edge manufacturing processes.
Ikigai Steel is planning international expansion into Canada and Africa. The company aims to increase its annual production capacity to 45,000 tonnes. This growth is driven by a diverse client portfolio that includes major entities such as Abu Dhabi Airports and Emaar.
CEO Rohan Raj Nadarajan attributes Ikigai Steel's significant growth to its strategic location in the Hamriyah Free Zone. The zone's infrastructure provides an ideal business environment for executing large-scale projects and expanding into new markets.
The company has seen a rapid increase in its workforce, now exceeding 200 employees. This growth reflects its success in attracting skilled talent, especially in advanced manufacturing and 3D steel technology.
