Iftar Banquets At Prophet's Mosque Unite Fasting Muslims In Faith And Giving
Madinah, SPA – The holy month of Ramadan witnesses a unique gathering at the Prophet's Mosque, where fasting Muslims from various nationalities and ethnicities come together for the Iftar journey. This event, marked by faith and unity, sees the northern and western courtyards of the mosque filled with tens of thousands of individuals breaking their fast together before the Maghrib call to prayer. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) recently highlighted this spiritual gathering, emphasizing its significance in bringing together the hearts of Muslims.
Throughout Ramadan, it is anticipated that over 8.5 million Iftar meals will be distributed at designated locations within the Prophet's Mosque. This effort is part of a larger initiative to support those fasting during this sacred month. In addition to the meals, more than 45 million people are expected to benefit from the Zamzam water irrigation services. These services include distributing 2.5 million bottles of Zamzam water as part of the Zamzam water project in the Two Holy Mosques.

The provision of Zamzam water, considered sacred in Islam, is a key aspect of the services offered during Ramadan. Daily, 18,000 Zamzam water containers are distributed in both men's and women's sections. Moreover, 1,205 water taps are prepared for use in the outdoor courtyards, ensuring that all those attending the mosque can access this blessed water.
This comprehensive distribution effort underscores the commitment to facilitating a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan for worshippers at the Prophet's Mosque. The initiative not only caters to the physical needs of those fasting but also fosters a sense of community and shared faith among Muslims from diverse backgrounds.
