IDEX And NAVDEX 2025 Announce AED 3.97 Billion In Defence Contracts On Opening Day

The first day of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 featured the announcement of 13 contracts totalling AED3.97 billion. These agreements were made with both local and international companies. The Tawazun Council, which handles acquisitions and contracts for the Ministry of Defense and security agencies, facilitated these deals. This announcement was made during a press conference by Tawazun Council representatives Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, and Mahra Belal Al Dhaheri.

Maha Bilal Al Dhaheri revealed that nine local contracts were signed on the first day, valued at AED3.825 billion. Among these, International Golden Group (IGG) secured a deal for ammunition worth AED685.8 million. Thales Emarat Technologies was contracted to supply spare parts and materials while providing maintenance support for AED110.5 million. EDGE Group also signed a contract for data provisioning and smart services worth AED399.4 million.

IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 Secure AED 3.97 Billion

Calidus Land Systems received a contract to supply multi-role vehicles MTAV 4X4, valued at AED1.809 billion. Al Masaood was awarded a deal for spare parts and maintenance services worth AED20 million, while National Marine Dredging Company secured an agreement for unmanned platforms acquisition at AED299.2 million.

Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi announced four international contracts totalling AED143.4 million on the first day of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025. Finland’s Patria Land Systems Oy was contracted to provide technical support and spare parts for Patria vehicles, valued at AED21 million. Germany’s Rheinmetall Electronics secured a deal worth AED71.8 million for technical support in maintenance and logistics services.

Switzerland’s Rheinmetall Air Defence received a contract for air defense systems repair and maintenance, valued at AED18.6 million. Additionally, Maxar Intelligence from the U.S. was awarded a contract to provide satellite imagery leasing services worth AED31.9 million.

Strategic Importance of IDEX & NAVDEX

Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi highlighted the importance of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 in showcasing cutting-edge technologies in defense and aerospace sectors. He stated that these events offer an ideal platform for leading companies to exchange expertise and innovations while supporting the UAE's strategic goals in enhancing defense capabilities.

Al Jaberi further noted that the contracts signed reflect Tawazun Council’s strategy to build strong partnerships locally and internationally, strengthening the defense sector in the UAE. These agreements are expected to create new investment opportunities, contributing to sustainable economic growth within the country.

Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) also signed a contract worth AED53 million to provide technical support, maintenance, repair, and spare parts services. Another agreement involved International Golden Group and MP3 for aircraft rescue equipment procurement valued at AED309 million, while Injazat Data Systems secured a digital transformation services contract worth AED138.7 million.

IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 are organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and Tawazun Council. The event aims to reinforce the UAE's position as a global hub for defense industries by promoting technological advancements that enhance national security and stability through strategic collaborations with leading companies worldwide.
