The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), a Shariah-compliant insurer within the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, has announced an upcoming event. The Capacity-Building Program for Users of the OIC Business Intelligence Centre (OBIC) is scheduled for February 18-20 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This gathering will unite experts in credit information and business intelligence to discuss their role in trade and investment decisions among OIC member states.
Dr. Khalid Khalafalla, CEO of ICIEC, highlighted the significance of this initiative. "The OBIC initiative is a transformative step in strengthening the business intelligence landscape across the OIC region. It fosters enhanced information sharing and builds the capacity of member states, laying the foundation for more informed trade and investment decisions. The Jakarta event represents a significant milestone in realizing our vision to create a sustainable, data-driven ecosystem that supports the growth and development of OIC member states."

The event will concentrate on advancing OBIC's goal of promoting information exchange to boost trade and investment within the OIC. Technical sessions will cover trends in digital transformation and business intelligence, such as digitalizing services for SMEs and Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs). These discussions aim to provide insights into how digital tools can enhance economic activities.
Participants will also explore successful platforms like the AMAN Union Database Centre. This platform serves as a model for utilizing statistical resources effectively for credit, trade, and investment data analysis. Such examples are crucial for understanding how data can drive economic decisions.
The program promises to offer valuable insights into investment prospects within OIC member countries. By examining current trends and future possibilities, attendees can gain a better understanding of potential opportunities in these regions. The discussions are expected to highlight both challenges and opportunities present in these markets.
This event marks an important step towards creating a sustainable ecosystem driven by data within OIC member states. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, it aims to strengthen economic ties among these countries. The focus on business intelligence underscores its importance in making informed trade and investment choices.
