Winners Of ICCROM-Sharjah Award For Cultural Heritage To Be Revealed On 28th November 2023
The ICCROM Regional Centre in Sharjah, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, will host a ceremony on 28th November. This event will announce winners of the 4th cycle of the ICCROM-Sharjah Award for Good Practices in Cultural Heritage Preservation and the 3rd cycle of the Arab Cultural Heritage Award for the Young.
During this ceremony, a Grand Award will be given for exemplary practices in cultural heritage conservation across the Arab region. Additionally, two Honourary Awards will be presented: one focusing on Community Engagement and another on Conservation and Innovation. These awards aim to recognise significant contributions to cultural heritage management.

The event will also celebrate young Arab talents who have excelled in drawing, photography, awareness films, and folkloric dance. These individuals are recipients of the Arab Cultural Heritage Award for the Young. Their creativity will be showcased during the ceremony, highlighting their contributions to preserving cultural heritage through various art forms.
Before the ceremony, winners of first, second, and third places in each category of the Arab Cultural Heritage Award for the Young will participate in training workshops. These workshops will cover arts, photography, and directing to further enhance their skills and knowledge in these fields.
Historian and architect Professor Nasser Rabbat from MIT will be honoured at this event. He is recognised for his exceptional work in architecture and heritage preservation. His contributions have significantly impacted Islamic architecture studies globally.
The ICCROM Centre recently announced that 18 projects have advanced to the final round of the ICCROM-Sharjah Award for Good Practices. These projects were selected from a pool of 55 nominations representing countries like UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, and Yemen.
