ICBA Unveils Ambitious 2024-2034 Strategy And New Corporate Identity For Sustainable Agriculture

The International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) has unveiled its 2024-2034 Strategy and a refreshed corporate identity. This event was attended by notable dignitaries, global sustainability leaders, and key stakeholders. Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chair of ICBA’s Board of Directors, highlighted the centre's significant achievements since its inception in 1999. She stated, "Since its founding in 1999, ICBA has addressed critical challenges such as salinity, water scarcity, and climate change, particularly in arid and saline environments. This progress would not have been possible without the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership and the support of our co-founders—the UAE Government, the Islamic Development Bank, the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development."

Al Mubarak emphasised that ICBA's new strategy is a commitment to innovation and sustainability. It serves as a roadmap for future endeavours aimed at tackling global agricultural issues with solutions tailored to local needs. Dr. Tarifa Ajeif Alzaabi, Director General of ICBA, explained that their new strategy builds on past successes in managing salinity and adapting to climate challenges. She remarked that it enhances their leadership in creating scalable methods to handle salinity impacts while promoting sustainable farming practices.
