ICAIRE Invites Global Researchers To Contribute To International AI Ethics Research Initiative
The International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) in Riyadh, affiliated with UNESCO, is inviting global researchers and experts to participate in a worldwide initiative. This effort supports interdisciplinary scientific research on artificial intelligence (AI) ethics. The goal is to promote responsible use of intelligent technologies while advancing both theoretical and practical aspects of ethical AI.
Researchers and practitioners from fields like AI, machine learning, data science, philosophy, law, human-computer interaction, and social sciences are encouraged to submit proposals. Those with experience in academic publishing or interdisciplinary collaboration are particularly sought after. This initiative aims to form specialized research groups that will create tools, reports, and significant scientific papers to advance this crucial field globally.

The initiative's primary focus is on exploring ethical principles in the design and operation of AI systems. It aims to assess risks associated with AI technologies while promoting algorithmic fairness and identifying biases. By addressing these issues, the initiative seeks to contribute to the development of fair and inclusive global policies and standards.
Six key research areas are covered by this initiative. These include ethical principles in AI system design, human-centered design approaches, bias detection and algorithmic fairness, responsible use of large language models, cultural perspectives on AI, and justice in analyzing technological and social disparities.
This initiative also highlights cultural challenges related to AI design and usage. By doing so, it contributes to developing inclusive global policies. The aim is to ensure that AI technologies are used responsibly across different cultures worldwide.
Applications for participation will be accepted until Thursday through the provided link: https://icaire.org/news/call-for-research-advancing-ai-ethics-principles-and-practices. This call aligns with Sustainable Development Goals focused on justice and innovation.
