The meeting also focused on the upcoming UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

ICAIRE Reviews Saudi Arabia's AI Readiness Report

Scheduled from June 24 to 27, 2025, in Thailand, the forum will provide a platform for submitting specialized research on AI ethics. Participants aim to explore recent advancements and challenges related to ethical and sustainable AI use while promoting global collaboration in this field. This aligns with findings from the Saudi Arabia Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment Report published by UNESCO in December 2024.

The report praised Saudi Arabia's accomplishments in developing digital infrastructure and enhancing regulatory frameworks supporting AI. These efforts contribute to creating an advanced AI ecosystem that encourages innovation and supports sustainable development, aligning with Vision 2030 objectives. The Kingdom's commitment to strengthening its AI capabilities has been recognized internationally.

During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for involvement in the upcoming global forum. By submitting specialized research on AI ethics, they aim to address challenges associated with responsible AI use. Enhancing international cooperation is crucial for advancing ethical standards in artificial intelligence globally.

The discussions at ICAIRE highlighted the importance of preparing countries for AI adoption through comprehensive assessments like RAM. By evaluating readiness levels, nations can better align their strategies with ethical principles and technological advancements. This proactive approach ensures that countries are equipped to handle the complexities of integrating AI into various sectors responsibly.

Overall, these initiatives reflect a commitment to fostering an environment where artificial intelligence can thrive sustainably while adhering to ethical guidelines. As countries continue to embrace AI technologies, maintaining a focus on ethics will be essential for ensuring positive outcomes across different domains worldwide.
