ICAIRE Engages Global Experts On Saudi Arabia's AI Readiness Assessment Report By UNESCO

The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), linked with UNESCO, recently reviewed the UNESCO's Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) Report for Saudi Arabia. This session, held at ICAIRE's headquarters in Riyadh, included a select group of local and international AI experts. The report provided a comprehensive explanation of the assessment methodology crafted by UNESCO.

This methodology is designed to assess how prepared countries are to develop and integrate AI technologies. It involves gathering data from stakeholders, distributing RAM questionnaires, and generating reports that offer recommendations to ensure readiness for AI ethics. The meeting also focused on the upcoming UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

Scheduled from June 24 to 27, 2025, in Thailand, the forum will provide a platform for submitting specialized research on AI ethics. This aligns with findings from the Saudi Arabia Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment Report published by UNESCO in December 2024.
