IACAD's DULOOK App Achieves Over 770,000 Downloads Worldwide, Enhancing Digital Prayer Experiences
Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has marked a digital milestone with its "DULOOK" app, designed for global prayer times. The app has surpassed 770,000 downloads worldwide, showcasing Dubai's growing influence in the tech sector. With over 65,000 daily active users, the app highlights IACAD's success in using digital tools to improve the quality of life for Muslims globally.
Approximately half a million downloads occurred within the UAE, split between 200,000 on Android and 300,000 on iPhone. Downloads from outside the UAE reached 270,000, making up about 36% of the total user base. This global reach is due to the app’s precise prayer time display based on location and its integrated features like Qibla direction and smart notifications.

The app's analytics indicate rising user engagement from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, and the UAE. It is also gaining traction in Western nations like the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, and India. The app’s accuracy and digital features contribute significantly to its widespread appeal across different regions.
Dr. Hamad Mohammed Saleh, who leads the Moonsighting and Prayer Times Section at IACAD, mentioned that new features are being developed to further enhance user experience. These updates aim to broaden the app’s benefits and will be announced soon. User feedback plays a crucial role in this ongoing development process.
The strategic goal of "DULOOK" is to enrich users' digital religious experiences through a reliable platform. It helps users accurately determine prayer times and Qibla direction while allowing them to listen to the call to prayer and follow religious events based on approved references. This aligns with Dubai’s mission to utilise technology for humanity's benefit while reinforcing religious values in everyday life.
Dr. Saleh emphasised that user suggestions are vital for continuous improvement. Feedback received through various channels is essential for refining "DULOOK" and expanding its local and global reach. This approach ensures that the app remains relevant and beneficial to its diverse user base.
The "DULOOK" app stands as a testament to Dubai's commitment to leveraging technology in enhancing community services. By integrating advanced digital features with religious practices, it strengthens connections with faith while promoting a smart lifestyle for Muslims worldwide.
