Riyadh Hosts Successful Conclusion Of Hima Protected Areas Forum

The Hima Protected Areas Forum, a significant event in the environmental sector, recently wrapped up its activities in Riyadh. Spanning from April 21-24, the forum was a hub for discussions and collaborations aimed at enhancing wildlife protection and conservation efforts. Eng. Abdulrahman AlFadli, the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of the National Center for Wildlife (NCW), inaugurated the event, marking the beginning of a fruitful four-day exchange of ideas and strategies.

Dr. Mohammed Qurban, CEO of NCW, highlighted the forum's importance, linking it to Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in global environmental initiatives. The NCW's commitment to hosting significant international conferences underscores its dedication to wildlife conservation and the development of regulations and policies for protected areas within the Kingdom. The forum attracted notable local and international participants, facilitating a rich dialogue through eight main sessions, workshops, side meetings, and field visits to natural reserves.

An integral part of the forum was the signing of memoranda and agreements, which are expected to bolster conservation efforts. Additionally, a series of recommendations were issued, aiming to guide future actions in the realm of environmental protection. The event also featured an exhibition that saw participation from environmental centers, Royal reserves, major projects, associations, international environmental organizations, and international reserves. This diverse participation underscored the collaborative spirit of the forum and its role in fostering partnerships for environmental conservation.
