International Leaders Emphasise Dialogue At The 11th UNAOC Global Forum In Riyadh
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted the significance of Saudi Arabia hosting the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). He noted that holding the forum in a land with deep religious roots coincides with UNAOC's 20th anniversary. The event began at King Faisal Conference Hall in Riyadh, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and saw wide international participation.
Guterres emphasized that the world stands at a critical juncture between division and dialogue. He stated that fostering connections among cultures and religions demands political bravery and is essential for sustainable peace. He urged an end to violence in conflict zones and advocated for empowering youth and women in peace initiatives.

Miguel Ángel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for UNAOC, stressed enhancing communication among people while tackling Islamophobia. He pointed out the role of digital innovation and youth investment in driving positive change. Improving conditions for women and children and increasing their public life participation were also highlighted as crucial steps.
Elma Saiz Delgado, Spain's Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, emphasized equality for women and girls as vital for genuine multilateralism. She reaffirmed Spain's dedication to supporting UNAOC principles, promoting respect and peace amid global humanitarian challenges.
Binali Yildirim, former Prime Minister of Türkiye, asserted that UNAOC is essential to counter hatred and ignorance. He called for transforming dialogue into concrete actions through education, responsible media, and involving youth and women.
The forum underscored the need for political courage to bridge cultural divides. It highlighted empowering marginalized groups as key to achieving lasting peace. Participants agreed on the importance of dialogue over division in addressing global challenges.
