HFZA Unveils Seagull New Horizon Offshore Facility To Boost Maritime Services In UAE
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) in Sharjah has introduced a new 162,000-square-foot facility by Seagull New Horizon Offshore and Maritime. This establishment is a venture by Singapore's Seagull Pte Ltd, renowned for maritime services and ship repair. The launch underscores HFZA's status as a key hub for industrial firms aiming to expand both regionally and globally.
Seagull's new facility aims to bolster its presence in the UAE's maritime sector, focusing on oil, gas, and wind energy industries. HFZA's reputation as a leader in marine industry innovation supports Seagull’s strategy to attract offshore oil companies and international shipowners. The facility will offer specialized services like ship repairs at anchor, hydraulic maintenance, and marine equipment development.

His Excellency Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of HFZA, led the official opening alongside Seagull’s Founder and CEO, Maniam Babu. Senior representatives from both organisations attended the event. Al Mazrouei noted that Seagull’s factory would significantly enhance the diverse investments HFZA seeks to attract while meeting growing demands in the UAE and nearby markets for maritime services.
The free zone provides an integrated system of services that form a competitive edge. This comprehensive suite attracts companies across various sectors. Al Mazrouei highlighted that Seagull’s presence strengthens the maritime industry's growth in Sharjah and the UAE, boosting the emirate as a prime destination for quality investments.
Seagull's decision to establish itself in Hamriyah Free Zone was influenced by the extensive facilities available to investors. The free zone boasts modern infrastructure tailored for marine industries. Hamriyah Port features a 14-metre deep port and a 7-metre deep inner harbour, accommodating the latest vessels.
Enhancing Regional Operations
Maniam Babu explained that HFZA’s strategic location and infrastructure support Seagull’s specialised services for oil, gas, marine, and renewable energy sectors. This enhances operations across the Middle East. The free zone also offers accessible land plots near seawater with advanced equipment for shipbuilding and repair.
Al Mazrouei emphasised that HFZA's integrated service system is crucial to its competitive advantage. He added that this comprehensive suite of services has become a magnet attracting companies across all sectors and specialities.
Seagull's new facility will support ship repair, maintenance, and marine structure development. This move solidifies HFZA's reputation in the maritime sector. The facility will be fully equipped to deliver a wide range of specialised services including electrical installations and structural fabrications for offshore projects.
The establishment of this facility reflects HFZA’s appeal as a prominent hub for industrial companies looking to expand regionally and globally.
