Hevolution Foundation Unveils 2024 Global Healthspan Report On Aging And Economic Growth

Hevolution Foundation has unveiled the second edition of its Global Healthspan Report. This report challenges the traditional view of aging as inevitable decline, suggesting it can be influenced by science, policy, and innovation. The findings indicate that reducing poor health by just one year could generate trillions annually through increased productivity and reduced healthcare costs.

The report highlights a significant rise in investment in healthspan-related innovations. In 2024, global funding for this science almost doubled to $7.33 billion. Average deal sizes also grew by 77% compared to the previous year. This increase reflects growing investor confidence in a sector poised to reshape healthcare and aging.

Dr. Mehmood Khan, CEO of Hevolution Foundation, emphasized the importance of extending healthy years of life. He stated, "Our ability to extend the number of years people live in good health is one of the defining challenges of our time. This report provides a roadmap for how science, policy, and investment can come together to make that vision a reality."

The report stresses global collaboration's significance, noting regions like the Middle East are becoming innovation hubs for healthspan science and policy. In Saudi Arabia, this aligns with Vision 2030 and aims to position the Kingdom as a global leader in scientific and health innovation.

Through Hevolution Foundation, Saudi Arabia has committed approximately $400 million to advance healthspan science. This funding supports over 230 research grants involving around 200 researchers globally, alongside 25 strategic partnerships and four biotech companies working towards human clinical translation.

A Call to Action

The second edition of the Global Healthspan Report urges policymakers, scientists, and investors to unite around extending healthy human lifespan. It advocates for expanding access to innovation and ensuring longer, healthier lives become a worldwide reality.
