Hereditary Grand Duke Of Luxembourg Explores Humanitarian Efforts At KSrelief Headquarters In Riyadh
Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and a board member of the World Scout Foundation’s Endowment Fund, visited the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Riyadh. He was welcomed by Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Supervisor General for Planning and Development at KSrelief.
During his visit, Prince Guillaume explored KSrelief's permanent exhibition. This exhibition showcases the center's global humanitarian efforts through an interactive map of beneficiary countries, audio-visual presentations, volunteer program displays, and a section dedicated to writing humanitarian messages. Visitors can also experience refugee life through virtual reality technology.

The Prince also toured offices of KSrelief’s partner organizations and international bodies. Here, he received briefings on their collaborative work scope. A meeting with Dr. Al-Ghamdi followed, where they discussed shared interests in humanitarian and relief efforts.
A visual presentation highlighted KSrelief’s extensive projects and programs. These include over 3,647 initiatives across 108 countries with a total value exceeding $8 billion. The projects cover essential sectors like health, food security, education, and shelter.
Specialized initiatives were emphasized during the presentation. These included child soldier rehabilitation, the "Masam" project for clearing landmines in Yemen, prosthetic limb projects, and the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins.
The center's volunteer programs were also detailed. They have delivered 1,030 educational, training, and medical initiatives in 55 countries, benefiting over 2.35 million people. Among these were more than 244,000 surgical operations.
Praise for Humanitarian Contributions
Prince Guillaume commended Saudi Arabia's global reputation in humanitarian work through KSrelief. He praised its crucial role in supporting vulnerable populations and those affected by crises worldwide.
