Healthy Longevity Innovation Forum In Abu Dhabi Explores New Frontiers In Healthcare Solutions
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) and the Institute for Healthier Living Abu Dhabi (IHLAD) recently hosted the inaugural Healthy Longevity Innovation Forum. This event gathered global experts, policymakers, and healthcare leaders to discuss innovative healthcare solutions and policies aimed at promoting longer, healthier lives in the UAE. The forum reinforced DoH's mission to adapt healthcare for an aging world.
Dr. Fayeza Alyafei from DoH highlighted that healthy longevity is central to their strategic vision. She stated, "At DoH, healthy longevity is a cornerstone of our strategic vision for the future of healthcare in the Emirate." The forum provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and resources to address modern aging challenges. This initiative supports DoH's goal of implementing preventive approaches across Abu Dhabi.

Prof. Dr. Shahrukh Hashmi led a research session featuring experts like Dr. Eric Verdin and Professor Andrea Maier. They discussed advanced longevity medicine, digital biomarkers, and precision health interventions. These discussions aimed at breakthroughs that could improve healthcare outcomes and quality of life in the region.
Dr. Nicole Sirotin emphasised the importance of research in this field, stating, "Research is critical to the success and growth of our community." She noted the current lack of evidence in diagnostics and therapeutics for healthy longevity and highlighted IHLAD's collaboration with DoH to build this specialty ethically.
Dr. Rashed Alsuwaidi from ADPHC spoke about Abu Dhabi's personalised approach to health using digital innovation and genomics. He mentioned tools like IFHAS screening and AI-powered care that are transforming healthcare into a proactive model focused on prevention.
The forum also featured public sessions with panels exploring AI's role in healthy longevity medicine, biological age measurement advancements, and preventive medicine's importance. Discussions focused on translating these advancements into real benefits for Abu Dhabi residents.
Vision 2030: A Commitment to Global Leadership
A recurring theme was shifting from treating diseases to promoting lifelong health by addressing aging's root causes before diseases appear. This aligns with Healthy Longevity Vision 2030, which aims to contribute positively to global health.
