Comprehensive Health Services Available For Worshippers At The Grand Mosque 24/7
Visitors to the Grand Mosque benefit from 24-hour healthcare services provided by three emergency centres within the mosque. These centres are managed by the Makkah Health Cluster in partnership with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. The centres ensure immediate medical assistance is available to worshippers and visitors.
Al-Haram Emergency Center No. 1 is located on the first floor of the King Fahd expansion, near gate 88. Al-Haram Emergency Center No. 3 can be found in the Saudi Portico at Ismail Gate, while Al-Haram Emergency Center No. 4 is also in the Saudi Portico on the first floor, adjacent to Ajyad bridge.

The Grand Mosque area includes three key health centres dedicated to serving its visitors. Ajyad Hospital features an intensive-care unit, a laboratory for essential tests, and a pharmacy stocked with various medications. This ensures comprehensive medical support for those in need.
Al-Haram Hospital is strategically positioned on the north side of the Grand Mosque, close to King Abdullah gate. It provides urgent medical services to individuals requiring immediate care, ensuring that medical emergencies are promptly addressed.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority collaborates with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque to provide several automated external defibrillators (AEDs). These devices play a crucial role in improving survival rates during cardiac arrest or respiratory failure by delivering controlled electric shocks to restore normal heart rhythm.
Currently, five AEDs are strategically placed at the main gates of the Grand Mosque, with another five located in the third Saudi expansion. This distribution ensures that life-saving equipment is readily accessible throughout key areas of the mosque.
The collaborative efforts between health authorities and emergency services ensure that visitors to this sacred site receive timely and effective medical care whenever necessary. This comprehensive approach highlights a commitment to safeguarding public health within this significant religious venue.
