Health Sector Transformation Program Reports Major Achievements For 2024 Under Vision 2030

The Health Sector Transformation Program, a key component of the Kingdom Vision 2030, has highlighted significant achievements in 2024. The program's focus on technology has led to substantial improvements in healthcare services. The "Sehhaty" platform facilitated over 51 million virtual consultations, while more than 30 million people were linked to a unified health file. Additionally, the "Wasfaty" platform recorded over 40 million prescriptions, benefiting more than 14 million individuals.

Efforts to prevent health risks have also seen success. Early diabetes detection benefited over 480,000 individuals, and breast cancer detection cases exceeded 130,000. Colorectal cancer early detection reached more than 120,000 cases. These initiatives are part of the program's goal to enhance preventive healthcare measures across the Kingdom.

Major Achievements in Health Sector for 2024

In terms of technological advancements, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) achieved a groundbreaking milestone by performing the world's first fully robotic organ transplant and the first robotic liver transplant. This achievement underscores the Kingdom's leadership in healthcare innovation within the Middle East and Africa.

The Seha Virtual Hospital has also gained international recognition as it was acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the largest virtual hospital globally. This accolade reflects the Kingdom's commitment to leveraging technology for improved healthcare delivery.

The Health Volunteering Platform has seen participation from over 632,000 volunteers since its inception. Additionally, charitable efforts through the "Shefa" platform have supported more than 8,000 cases. These initiatives highlight the community's involvement in enhancing healthcare services and support systems.

Significant progress has been made in increasing access to healthcare services across regions within the Kingdom. The proportion of areas served by health services rose from 81% in 2016 to 96%. This expansion includes peripheral areas, ensuring broader access to essential health services for all citizens.

Improvements in Public Health Metrics

The average human lifespan in Saudi Arabia has increased from 74 years in 2016 to 78.8 years. This improvement reflects enhanced healthcare services and preventive measures implemented across the country. Furthermore, traffic accident mortality rates have significantly decreased from 28.8 per 100,000 people in 2016 to just over 13 per 100,000 people.

The Kingdom ranks first regionally with sixteen cities meeting eighty health standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO). This achievement highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment to creating healthy urban environments that promote well-being among its citizens.

The ongoing efforts of health authorities and dedicated professionals throughout 2024 are part of a broader transformation journey initiated with Vision 2030. This vision aims for a vibrant society and healthier lives for all residents of Saudi Arabia.
