Health Minister Fahad AlJalajel Reviews Key Healthcare Projects At King Salman Medical City
Fahad AlJalajel, the Health Minister and Chairman of the Health Holding Company Board of Directors, recently visited King Salman bin Abdulaziz Medical City in Madinah. The visit focused on several health projects led by the Madinah Health Cluster. These initiatives aim to improve healthcare quality and accessibility in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program.
During his tour, AlJalajel inspected the placenta previa treatment center, a key facility within the women's health track of the Saudi Model of Care. This center supports C-sections in the interventional radiology department and offers uterine arterial embolization to reduce complications and enhance safety for mothers and newborns.

The minister also assessed improvements at the medical city's main hospital and Maternity and Children's Hospital emergency departments. These upgrades include a bed capacity increase to 101, a new 12-bed rapid triage area, an activated case management system, and expanded waiting rooms. These changes aim to enhance patient experience and departmental readiness.
AlJalajel visited the interventional radiology department, which has expanded by 200% with two new advanced devices. This expansion enhances diagnostic efficiency, improves treatment outcomes, and reduces surgical intervention needs.
The diabetic foot treatment center was another stop on AlJalajel's tour. This facility provides comprehensive preventive and therapeutic services using advanced technologies to improve patients' quality of life while reducing complications.
The hemodialysis center, developed in collaboration with the Abdullah Alrajhi Foundation, was also part of the visit. This modern facility includes 10 beds with isolation and respiratory rooms, equipped to meet high standards.
Air Evacuation Developments
In efforts to strengthen emergency response capabilities, AlJalajel was briefed on the second phase of air evacuation landing strips within Madinah Health Cluster hospitals. This phase introduces seven additional landing strips across various hospitals, including Al-Haram Hospital, increasing the total number under the cluster's management to 15.
These developments reflect ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Madinah. By focusing on specialized care centers and emergency response improvements, these projects aim to provide better healthcare services for residents in alignment with national goals.
