Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Leads Opening Of Harrisburg University's Dubai Campus
Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Dubai (HU Dubai) has recently celebrated the opening of its new campus located in Dubai Knowledge Park, a significant addition to the TECOM Group PJSC. The inauguration event was graced by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, alongside distinguished guests from the university's leadership, its UAE Senior Advisory Board, TECOM Group, and leaders from HU’s global, regional, and local institutional partners across government, academia, industrial technologies, and the private sector.
This new campus marks Harrisburg University's first foray into the MENA region, expanding its reach from its original base in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Known for its focus on science and technology, Harrisburg University offers degrees designed to equip students for success in the rapidly evolving STEM fields. The establishment of HU Dubai is a testament to the university's commitment to academic excellence and making top-tier STEM education more accessible.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan praised HU Dubai for its dedication to academic excellence and its role in supporting the UAE's vision for a knowledge-driven economy. He highlighted the university's focus on STEM education and experiential learning as key factors that will positively influence the UAE’s educational landscape.
Dr. Eric Darr, President and CEO of Harrisburg University, expressed his honor in launching the university in Dubai, recognizing the city as a burgeoning center for world-class education. He emphasized the university's mission to bridge educational gaps and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the region.
Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group, representing Dubai Knowledge Park, underscored the importance of empowering critical thinkers to co-create innovations with lasting impacts. He affirmed Dubai Knowledge Park’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the Dubai Research and Development Programme through STEM education.
