Haramain High-Speed Railway Set To Transport Over Two Million Pilgrims During Hajj Season 1446 AH

The Saudi Railway Company (SAR) is actively executing its operational strategy for the 1446 AH Hajj season via the Haramain High-Speed Railway. This railway is among the world's fastest, reaching speeds of up to 300 km/h. SAR has planned over 4,700 trips during this period, offering more than two million seats to pilgrims. This marks an increase of over 400,000 seats compared to last year.

The Haramain High-Speed Railway is a crucial part of Saudi Arabia's national transport system. It provides a smart and efficient travel option, connecting key religious and economic cities along a 453-kilometer electric rail line. The railway includes five main stations: Makkah, Jeddah (Central Station), King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Abdullah Economic City, and Madinah.

SAR continues its "Hajj Without a Baggage" initiative for the second year in collaboration with relevant entities. This program ensures that pilgrims' luggage is transported directly from their departure airports to their accommodations in Makkah. It allows them to board the Haramain Railway immediately upon arrival without handling their baggage.

The station at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah stands out globally for its integration with an international airport. It facilitates seamless passenger transfers between flights and rail without leaving the airport premises. This enhances connectivity between air and land travel significantly.

The Haramain High-Speed Railway exemplifies Saudi Arabia's dedication to developing modern infrastructure that supports integrated, safe, and environmentally sustainable public transport.
