Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Celebrates KU Professor's Contribution To Astronomy

Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Khalifa University Board of Trustees, has commended Dr. Mohamed Ramy El-Maarry for his notable contributions to the field of astronomy. This recognition comes on the heels of an asteroid being named after Dr. El-Maarry by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), a milestone that not only honors his work but also places Khalifa University and the UAE's space sector on the global map.

Dr. El-Maarry, who serves as the Director of the Space and Planetary Science Group and Associate Professor of Earth Sciences at Khalifa University, has had the asteroid 2002 CZ officially renamed to (357148) El-Maarry by the IAU. This accolade is a testament to his extensive research and contributions to our understanding of the solar system.
