The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has officially opened its doors for nominations for its prestigious Gulf-level educational awards. This announcement marks the beginning of the application period for three major categories: the Distinguished Student Award, the Distinguished Teacher Award, and the Distinguished School Award. This initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing efforts to recognize and support outstanding achievements within the educational sector across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General and CEO of the foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the launch of these awards in their latest edition. "With the opening of nominations for these awards, we aim to honor and spotlight the accomplishments of students, teachers, and educational institutions that have shown exceptional creativity and excellence," he stated. Dr. Al Suwaidi emphasized that the foundation is committed to developing these awards and programs to cater to the evolving needs of the educational sector, aligning with the vision of progressive leadership and its dedication to fostering innovation and excellence in all spheres.

The foundation encourages applicants from all GCC countries to submit their projects for consideration, with the goal of serving and advancing the Gulf educational sector. The nomination process commenced in March of this year and will remain open until 19th September 2024. Applicants can find all necessary information and submission requirements on the foundation's official website. Nominated entries will be thoroughly evaluated by panels of experts, adhering to the highest international standards of judgment and evaluation.
Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Asmi, Director-General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, highlighted the significance of these awards in promoting excellence among students, teachers, school leaders, and educational institutions. He noted that such recognition plays a crucial role in enhancing educational standards and efficiency. The previous edition of these awards saw a notable increase in participation, with 89 participants and 17 winners being recognized for their contributions.
Established by the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, these awards aim to elevate the quality of education and encourage talent and excellence within the sector. Over time, they have grown not only in scope but also in prestige, forming strategic partnerships with global and regional organizations. Today, they stand as one of the most esteemed recognitions in both regional and international educational circles.
