Hamdan Bin Zayed And Hazza Bin Zayed Visit Inaugural Al Ain International Hunting And Equestrian Exhibition

The Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (AAIHEX) is underway at the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain, running until 30 November. Organised by the ADNEC Group with the Emirates Falconers’ Club, this inaugural event showcases innovations in hunting, equestrian sports, and more. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently visited to explore its offerings.

During their visit, Their Highnesses toured various exhibition halls, engaging with both national and international pavilions. They were briefed on the latest advancements in hunting gear, falconry, camel sports, and other traditional activities. The exhibition also highlights heritage arts and camping equipment, offering a comprehensive look at these cultural practices.

The AAIHEX is a significant addition to Al Ain Region’s event calendar, enhancing its reputation as a hub for specialised events and heritage activities. This aligns with Al Ain being named the Gulf Capital of Tourism 2025. Their Highnesses emphasised that the exhibition underscores the UAE's commitment to preserving Emirati heritage and promoting traditional sports.

Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Hazza met with representatives from local and international companies during their tour. They reviewed key innovations showcased for enthusiasts of traditional sports, reinforcing these activities' role within the community. The exhibition draws exhibitors from around the world, reflecting its growing reputation as a platform blending Emirati heritage with modern innovations.

The event features 873 exhibitors across a 24,000-square-metre area. Local exhibitors make up 88% of participants, while international companies account for 12%. This provides an ideal platform for local brands to showcase products in hunting, equestrian pursuits, camping gear, and more.

Accompanying Their Highnesses were several dignitaries including Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and His Excellency Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri from ADNEC Group. The exhibition offers opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants from 12 countries.

Diverse Event Offerings

The exhibition spans 11 main sectors such as arts and handicrafts, outdoor sports equipment, falconry, camels, equestrian pursuits including saluki dogs. It also covers veterinary products, environmental conservation efforts, mobile homes (RVs), along with hunting and safari experiences.

Visitors can enjoy over 20 live shows and heritage competitions that enrich their experience. Highlights include a traditional cooking contest with Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority's collaboration and an Arabic coffee brewing workshop celebrating Emirati hospitality.

The programme also features traditional performances like Al-Yowla and the heritage sport Al-Tabbah in interactive settings that encourage community engagement while showcasing authenticity.

Their Highnesses praised the event's organisation level which attracted numerous exhibitors globally. They noted its success reflects emerging interest in platforms combining rich Emirati culture with innovative approaches to hunting and equestrian activities.
