Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Unveils Fifth Edition Of Future Science Challenge Focused On Tourism And Hospitality

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has launched the fifth edition of the Future Science Challenge. This initiative, which began on 9 October, spans the Arab region. It aims to enhance scientific research skills and innovative thinking among gifted Arab students in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).

This year's theme, "Tourism and Hospitality," aligns with the UAE's national AI strategy. The challenge focuses on connecting applied education with key economic sectors. Students are encouraged to apply modern technologies to solve real-world problems through innovative, science-based approaches.

Future Science Challenge Focuses on Tourism Sector

The Future Science Challenge empowers students by broadening their knowledge horizons. It encourages them to apply AI and IoT to design enhanced visitor experiences in tourism and hospitality. The programme fosters active student participation in community development through projects promoting innovation and sustainability.

Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, highlighted the challenge's role in applied education. He stated, "The Future Science Challenge is a model of applied education rooted in student innovation and knowledge expansion. It connects science, economics, and culture within the Arab world."

The fifth edition centers on developing technological solutions to improve service quality and promote sustainability in tourism and hospitality sectors. Al Qatami noted that this year's theme reflects the Foundation's commitment to aligning with development opportunities, encouraging solutions that enhance life quality.

Participating teams from across the Arab world are encouraged to seize this opportunity for knowledge exchange, skills development, and cross-border collaboration. This supports educational advancement and serves Arab communities effectively.

Training Programme for Participants

A specialised training programme is included for both students and mentors. It equips them with foundational skills in AI and IoT necessary for developing creative solutions. Final projects will be evaluated by experts based on creativity, impact, and implementation quality.

Winning teams will be announced and honoured in April 2026. This initiative reaffirms the Foundation’s commitment to providing a scientific platform that enables students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical projects with clear social and economic impact.
