Hamdan Bin Mohammed Meets Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister To Strengthen Defence Ties
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, recently met with His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs of Oman. This meeting was part of Sheikh Hamdan's official visit to Oman, where he led a high-level delegation.
The discussions focused on the robust and growing relationship between the UAE and Oman. Both leaders stressed the significance of mutual visits in enhancing cooperation and creating new opportunities for shared prosperity. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan praised the ongoing positive momentum in relations, which reflects a shared commitment to common goals and enhanced Gulf collaboration across key sectors.
During their meeting, they explored ways to bolster defence cooperation through increased coordination and joint efforts between their armed forces. Both sides emphasised the importance of exchanging military expertise to enhance technical skills and practical capabilities. This aims to ensure operational excellence and professionalism that align with global standards.
Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the UAE's dedication to deepening cooperation with Oman across various fields. He highlighted the strong historical and brotherly ties between the two nations as a foundation for future collaboration. He expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to thrive, aligned with shared visions and joint efforts on both sides to build a prosperous future.
The meeting also covered a range of issues of mutual interest, including significant regional and international developments. Both leaders underscored the need for greater international cooperation to achieve lasting peace in the interests of regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both countries. These included Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence; Major General Hamdan Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Head of Military Operations and Strategic Planning; Major General Yousef Al Helami, Commander of Land Forces; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
