Rory McIlroy, who won the Masters in 2025, admired Dubai's ambition to become one of the world's most active cities through the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC). "Dubai has always held a special place in both my career and my life. I won my first professional title here at the Dubai Desert Classic in 2009," said McIlroy. He highlighted how Dubai has been integral to his journey since partnering with Jumeirah early in his career.

The vision behind DFC is inspiring according to McIlroy. He noted that H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's dedication to making Dubai an active city reflects forward-thinking leadership that makes it unique. Having competed in Dubai for nearly two decades, McIlroy returns for his 14th DP World Tour Championship appearance this week.

McIlroy emphasised that golf plays a crucial role in this year's DFC edition. He stated that golf is ideal for staying active as it combines physical activity with mental challenges while being accessible at any age or fitness level. "What I love about the Dubai Fitness Challenge is that it’s not just for elite athletes," he added.

The five-time Major Champion arrives in Dubai after winning the Masters at Augusta National earlier this year, becoming the first European to achieve all four Major Championships. As he leads the Race to Dubai Rankings, McIlroy aims to secure another title during DFC 2025.

McIlroy's relationship with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan has provided him with insight into Dubai's transformation into a global sporting hub. His experiences reflect how golf contributes significantly to promoting wellness and fitness across diverse demographics.
