Hamdan Bin Mohammed Launches Dubai AI Academy To Enhance Artificial Intelligence Education
During the inaugural Dubai AI Week 2025, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum introduced the Dubai AI Academy. This initiative aims to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) education into key economic sectors. The event, held from 21st to 25th April, was organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) under the patronage of His Highness.
The Academy is part of the Dubai AI Campus, located within the DIFC Innovation Hub, which is the largest cluster of AI and advanced technology companies in the region. It aims to educate 10,000 leaders with support from the DIFC Academy. The Academy will offer AI training and certification programmes to both emerging and experienced leaders.
By expanding AI education on a large scale, the Academy supports Dubai's goal to double AI's impact on its GDP and enhance global competitiveness. Training modules will cover essential skills like identifying AI use cases, integrating AI into business strategies, and applying ethical frameworks for responsible adoption.
The Academy will work with prestigious academic institutions such as Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, Udacity, and the Minerva Project. These collaborations aim to provide tailored programmes that equip participants with skills necessary for leadership in an AI-driven world.
This initiative aligns with the goals of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI). It reinforces Dubai’s long-term vision to become a global hub for AI, innovation, and technology. The Dubai AI Campus supports this transformation by offering computing power and business acceleration programmes.
The Academy also contributes to DIFC’s 2030 Strategy by enhancing talent development in Dubai’s growing AI, FinTech, and innovation ecosystem. Its establishment is expected to significantly boost local workforce productivity and facilitate AI integration in public and private sectors.
Focus on Leadership and Ethics
Initial offerings at the Academy include ‘AI for Civil Service’, aimed at government employees, and ‘Leadership in the Age of AI’. These courses focus on strategic decision-making, ethics, and adaptability in complex tech environments.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed stated that "Dubai will be the destination of choice for those who are seeking to lead the future of artificial intelligence." He emphasised support for initiatives showcasing diverse applications of AI that accelerate economic growth across various sectors.
The launch of this academy marks a significant step towards mainstreaming AI education in Dubai. It aims to advance its adoption across vital sectors while supporting economic growth through innovative applications.
