Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, stated that their investment in Nhava Sheva Business Park strengthens their infrastructure network in India. He noted that this development will help meet the evolving demands of their expanding customer base in both India and the region. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and India is already boosting bilateral trade.

DP World has invested over US$200 million (AED735 million) in developing three leading FTWZs in India. These zones are strategically positioned near India's coasts, offering advanced infrastructure, flexible warehousing options, simplified regulations, and seamless value-added services. This setup simplifies operations significantly.

The Nhava Sheva Business Park has received Platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its green design. This recognition highlights its role in promoting environmental stewardship alongside economic growth while supporting global business activities.

During the inauguration ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan planted a sapling at NSBP as a symbol of the UAE's commitment to sustainability and its growing partnership with India. This gesture reflects shared values and a long-term vision between both nations.

Empowering Local Communities

At the facility's launch, 35 women from local communities were employed for a shift, showcasing DP World's dedication to creating jobs where it operates. This initiative aligns with their broader Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) goals in India to increase female representation within the logistics sector.

This effort also supports DP World's strategic vision for the SCO region by promoting women-staffed warehouses across its operations. Such initiatives aim to foster a more inclusive work environment within logistics.

Strategic Location Boosts Connectivity

The strategic location of Nhava Sheva Business Park near major Indian transport hubs like Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, Navi Mumbai Airport, and national highways enhances India's trade connectivity through efficient multimodal cargo movement.

This integration with DP World’s Jebel Ali Free Zone ensures seamless cargo movement while strengthening global trade links between India and the UAE. The facility's capabilities enhance supply chain competitiveness by reducing costs and improving efficiency.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan toured the facility with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem during his visit. He was briefed on operations, value-added services, and customised solutions designed to boost FTWZ efficiency. Speaking at the event, he said: "The UAE and India share a long-standing economic partnership."
