Hamdan Bin Mohammed Celebrates Iftar With National Service Recruits In Abu Dhabi

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, joined national service recruits for Iftar at the Sweihan Training Centre in Abu Dhabi. The gathering was also attended by Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, along with other senior officers and officials.

The visit took place during the Holy Month and aligns with the ‘Year of Community’ initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen national unity and instil a sense of belonging and responsibility among the youth of the nation.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan commended the recruits for their discipline and dedication, emphasising that national service is vital for a robust defence system. He highlighted how it instils values like loyalty, belonging, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by the UAE Armed Forces.

He expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by these young individuals in their national service roles. Their determination and perseverance are seen as essential for safeguarding the nation's future and acting as its strong shield.

According to H.H., "The recruits embody the spirit of selfless service to the nation, and the skills and experiences they acquire during their training contribute to preparing a generation capable of facing challenges confidently and actively contributing to the nation’s quest for ever greater progress and stability."

He further stated that national service is not just an obligation but a significant honour requiring unwavering dedication. It involves being ready to sacrifice personal interests for the nation's sake.

Pride in Youth's Dedication

H.H. expressed pride in the UAE youth's loyalty, discipline, and dedication to national causes. He noted that their patriotic spirit plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Union's achievements and ensuring that the UAE’s flag continues to fly high with pride.

At the event's conclusion, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan extended his best wishes to the young recruits. He encouraged them to perform their duties with distinction under His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's leadership, who is President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
