Hamdan Bin Mohammed Celebrates Winners Of Challenge 71 Programme For Young Emirati Leaders
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, emphasised the importance of investing in people to develop their leadership skills. This aligns with the vision of President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to prepare the UAE for future challenges.
The Challenge 71 Programme, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024, aims to identify young leaders who can shape the UAE's future. The initiative encourages collaboration and team spirit among participants from federal and local entities, focusing on community empowerment, resilience, adaptability, and leadership character.
Dr. Salem Al Marri, an Engineer at Dubai Police General Headquarters, was honoured as the champion of Challenge 71. The winning team included Aisha Shahdad from Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Sarah Alraeesi from Fujairah Government Excellence Award Department, and Afra Al Suwaidi from Expo City Dubai.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan praised all 32 participants for their contributions to this national initiative. He highlighted that their teamwork and innovative solutions have fostered a culture of resilience and readiness in addressing challenges.
The programme's success lies in its ability to identify promising Emirati leaders who excelled in various leadership challenges. Participants demonstrated exceptional skills in resilience, adaptability, rapid response, and leadership under pressure throughout the six-month challenge.
Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, commended H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's support for Challenge 71. She noted that it has set a new standard for government capacity-building by empowering young talent across all areas of government work.
Future Expectations
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan expressed confidence in young Emiratis and creative government talent across all fields. He stated: "The UAE leadership has high expectations of you, and our trust in you is profound." Participants are expected to apply their insights to develop impactful solutions for their respective entities.
The event was attended by notable figures including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama. Their presence underscored the significance of this initiative in shaping future government work at both federal and local levels.
