Hamdan Bin Mohammed Highlights Sports Culture At Dubai Games 2025 On Second Day

The sixth edition of DUBAI GAMES 2025 is underway at Dubai Festival City, attracting 244 teams globally. This year’s event is the largest yet, with DP World as the official partner and DAMAC Group and Emarat as diamond partners. Organised alongside the Dubai Sports Council, the tournament will continue until 23 February.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, attended the second day of competitions. He stated, "Dubai continues to set an inspiring example for an active and health-conscious society that embraces sports as a way of life. We remain dedicated to fostering a culture where sports and an active lifestyle are deeply embedded in everyday life, constantly fostering the community’s well-being."

The second day featured thrilling performances in the Battle of the Government for Men. Abu Dhabi Police led with 121 points, followed by Ajman's Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation with 113.74 points. The Ministry of Defence secured third place with 113.63 points, while Dubai State Security took the final qualification spot with 112.19 points.

This year's Battle of the Cities has expanded significantly to include 50 teams from various countries such as the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Denmark, Australia, Norway, and others. The competition promises intense action as teams vie for top honours.

Day three will see more excitement with ongoing Battle of the Cities matches and the start of the Battle of the Community. These events continue to showcase high-energy performances seen over previous days.

DUBAI GAMES enjoys strong backing from both public and private sectors. Diverse Team Participation

The event features diverse categories: 84 teams in Battle of the Government – Men; 26 in Battle of the Government – Women; 28 in Battle of the Community; 50 in Battle of Cities; plus 56 teams participated in Battle of Juniors held on 8 February at DAMAC HILLS.

DUBAI GAMES aims to inspire future generations towards active lifestyles reflecting renewal, ambition, resilience—values embodying Dubai's vibrant spirit. The main championship runs from 20 to 23 February at Dubai Festival City with a prize pool exceeding AED3.1 million.
