Hamdan Bin Mohammed Establishes Board For Young Arab Leaders Initiative To Empower Youth

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has approved the formation of the Board of Directors for the 'Young Arab Leaders' initiative. This board includes 11 prominent Arab figures from various sectors to drive the initiative forward. "These Arab leaders will oversee the expansion of the initiative in the next phase," said H.H. Sheikh Hamdan.

The 'Young Arab Leaders' initiative, launched two decades ago, reflects His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision and belief in Arab youth's potential to shape the region's future. It aims to prepare young leaders to support development goals and preserve cultural legacies. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan stated, "We want this initiative to be a platform to realise the aspirations and dreams of Arab youth."

Formation of Young Arab Leaders Board Approved

Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the region's 200 million young people represent vast opportunities for a prosperous future. He highlighted their role as a valuable resource, stressing the importance of building capacities and providing opportunities for youth empowerment. "Youth are the main pillar of all efforts to shape the Arab world’s future," he added.

The initiative seeks to inspire significant achievements through skill development programmes and opportunities for young Arabs to innovate across various fields. It is recognised as the largest network dedicated to supporting promising Arab youth by fostering entrepreneurship and knowledge pursuit, thereby enhancing regional development plans.

Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, chairs the Board of Directors for this initiative. The board comprises influential figures like Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa from Bahrain, Dr. Tamam Menko from Jordan, Fahad AlGhanim from Kuwait, Aïssata Lam from Mauritania, Ibrahim Mohtaseb from Saudi Arabia, Mona Ataya from Palestine, Basil El-Baz from Egypt, Yazen Altimimi from Iraq, Nasser Al-Khater from Qatar, and Sami Daud from Oman.

Fatma Rashid Bujsaim has been appointed Secretary-General of the initiative. The goal is to attract 50,000 participants soon and develop projects with inspiring ideas involving Arab youth. A network of influential businesspeople and leaders will support and mentor young Arabs.

The initiative will utilise skills and expertise within its network to empower future leaders. This comprehensive platform aims to enable young Arabs by providing mentorship and guidance through established leaders in their fields.

The Young Arab Leaders initiative stands as a beacon for nurturing talent among Arab youth. By focusing on skill enhancement and leadership development, it aims to create a brighter future for upcoming generations across diverse sectors in the region.
