Hamdan Bin Mohamed Leads Smart And Autonomous Systems Council Meeting To Boost Investment In Technology
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, led the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) meeting at Qasr Al Watan. The session focused on reviewing updates related to SASC's strategic consultancy project and future plans to boost investment in autonomous systems within the emirate.
The meeting highlighted the importance of creating a unified strategy to enhance the role of autonomous smart systems as a key economic driver. Sheikh Hamdan stressed the need to identify stakeholder requirements, establish contracts, and attract leading companies to Abu Dhabi, contributing to sustainable development.
Discussions centred on improving the operating environment for smart transportation by promoting advanced technology and AI-driven solutions in autonomous systems. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised integrating sustainable, autonomous transportation solutions to improve logistics services across land, sea, and air transport systems.
Sheikh Hamdan directed SASC to prioritise developing incentive programmes for leading companies in the autonomous systems sector. These initiatives aim to encourage innovative projects that enhance operational efficiency in logistics, commercial transportation, and maritime and air freight through autonomous technologies.
The meeting also addressed plans for establishing comprehensive infrastructure for autonomous systems. This includes applying advanced technologies across key economic sectors. Collaborating with stakeholders to streamline approval processes and implement operational requirements for autonomous systems was also discussed.
Efforts are aligned with accelerating Abu Dhabi’s technological transformation towards a knowledge-driven economy. The meeting reviewed outcomes of SASC strategy and future projects aimed at supporting this transformation.
