Hamad International Airport's Advisory For Smooth Eid Al Adha Travel

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has recently shared an important travel advisory for passengers in anticipation of the Eid Al Adha public holidays and the school summer vacation. This guidance comes as part of the airport's commitment to ensure a seamless travel experience during these peak travel times.

The advisory notes that the busiest period for departures will kick off on Thursday, 13th June, extending over the weekend. Meanwhile, the surge in arrivals is predicted to start from the weekend of 20th June. HIA has been working closely with all relevant stakeholders to prepare for this influx of travelers efficiently.

In light of the upcoming busy period, HIA has offered several recommendations to aid passengers in their travel plans:

Passengers are urged to check in online before arriving at the airport, which can significantly expedite the check-in process and decrease wait times, ensuring a more relaxing start to their journey. Additionally, arriving at the airport four hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time is advised. This suggestion aims to give travelers enough time to complete check-in, security screenings, and boarding without rush.

Qatar Airways travelers can benefit from the self-service check-in and bag-drop facilities available at HIA. These services allow passengers to check in by themselves, print boarding passes, and bag tags, tag their luggage, and then drop it off at the designated counter, further streamlining their airport experience.

For faster immigration clearance, citizens and residents aged 18 and above are encouraged to utilize the e-gate machines provided by the airport. These machines simplify the immigration process, enabling quicker access to the departure zones.

It's important for passengers to remember that check-in concludes 60 minutes before the flight's departure, and boarding ends 20 minutes prior to the departure time. Adhering to these timelines is crucial to ensure a smooth boarding process.

Travelers should also pay attention to their airline's baggage allowance and weight restrictions. Staying within these limits is necessary to avoid unexpected fees or delays at the check-in counter. Moreover, passengers are advised to avoid bringing non-standard or oversized luggage that could complicate the security screening and boarding processes.

For convenience in drop-offs and pick-ups, using the short-term car park at HIA is recommended. Public transport is another viable option for reaching or departing from the airport.

Following these guidelines can help ensure a hassle-free travel experience. HIA's well-trained staff are always ready to assist passengers in the terminal, emphasizing the airport's dedication to delivering an outstanding service. HIA is looking forward to welcoming passengers and ensuring their journey through the airport is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
